SSG Joshua Buxton, originally from Hinton, Oklahoma, began his military service with the United States Navy in 2005 as a Yeoman serving onboard the USS Cape St. George. SSG Buxton served with the Oklahoma National Guard 145th Army Band as Enlisted Conductor and Euphonium player for 8 years while earning a Bachelor of Music degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master of Music degree in Conducting from Oklahoma City University. After graduate school in 2014, SSG Buxton auditioned for a trombone position with the Army Bands while taking on additional duties in Production. Video Production quickly became a focus for SSG Buxton, and he went on to study at the New York Film Academy. Before joining The United States Army Field Band in 2021, SSG Buxton was assigned to the 98th Army Band at Fort Rucker, Alabama and the 77th Army Band at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
